Our 2023 Residential
Our residential took us to the Pembrokeshire, a beautiful region in Wales.
As with all our residentials, we took over an activity centre for the weekend.
It’s important for us to have a completely vegan space for our breaks as it’s our chance to be in a little vegan world and sharing the space with other groups doesn’t work for what we want to achieve.
We stayed at Newgale Lodge which was a lovely set of rooms, where each family could have their own space while also having communal spaces for kids and adults to meet up!
Friday night is arrival night as everyone gets settled in, and we have our first meal together after getting a tour of the building.
The food is also an important part of the break. During our big meet-ups we get to eat together, and sometimes it can be the first time a vegan child has eaten with an entire room of vegans. It’s quite a special moment, to be out with such a big group, and know that everyone is consuming plants not parts!
The first evening is filled with excitement and aprehension and often it’s a good chance to get a good first nights sleep to prepare for the rest of the trip!
We find having a food buffet a great way to start our weekend as people arriving at different times means they can eat even if they arrive late!
Sunday we were able to have our boat trip rescheduled so we were able to go out, the boat trip was lots of fun!
Once that was finished we went to a local cafe that had awesome Vegan burgers and ice cream so we fed our bellies!
Such a fun trip, in a beautiful place with beautiful people!
As always we had such fun.
Make sure you check out our up-coming residential where you can join in the fun on our latest family break!

Up not too early for our first day of adventure and breakfast is served from 8am. It’s a help-yourself breakfast buffet to get our bellies full for a full day of activities.
And we’re off! We always try our best to get our in nature and explore our surroundings. We started with a foraging walk along New gale beach.
We were joined by a local guide who guided us through the different plants we can eat from the beach. Including picking our own seaweed. Some of our group also took the opportunity to do a beach clean.
It was a blustery, windy and rainy day but we didn’t let that get us down and the kids enjoyed playing on the beach and learning and trying some foraged food!
We returned to the centre for lunch when our afternoon trip on a boat had been cancelled due to bad weather. So we took the opportunity to go and explore a local village. and the kids were able to play.
Once back at the centre we had the crazy idea to do a pizza making workshop and make our own dinners!
That evening we held an escape room which was lots of fun!
